Lower Heels for Fall
-
Where are all those lower heels we were promised this fall?
As I was shopping at Neiman Marcus shoe department on Sunday, I overheard a conversation between a sales assistant and a customer. The customer, a very chic woman of about 55 years ,was asking why there are not more lower or mid heel heights. There seemed either to be 4-5 inches tall or flat. The sales person went on to tell that the shoe buyer for the company can request any heel height from brands when placing their orders. So, if this is true why do we have so little selection? Especially in a season that was hailed as the return of the kitten heel ( see the fall Vogue issue). Mid- height heels are the biggest requests from my clients, myself and an affluent customer at Neiman Marcus. As many women age some will feel less inclined to wear towering heels but still desire a little extra height. I, on the other hand, just want a little extra height but still need to chase after my children as well. So, for differing reasons the need for a mid heeled shoe is not being met. So, why are the designers and shoe buyers not listening? Tell me what you think.
